My husband and I purchased this product to match our wall unit made by the same manufacturer. We needed a desk to squeeze in the living room so we could work from home as well as use for entertainment purposes. The wood and design matches perfectly (it isn't as cherry as it appears). We also measured before we made the purchase, and it fits exactly as we imagined. The drawers close tightly/securely. They seem to be a standard depth as well. I would say the part where your legs fit could be wider, but we appreciate the drawer space more. The desk polishes nicely. We love how finished the desk looks and is attractive at any angle.
