Altra Furniture High Gloss White Bookcase with Sliding Glass Doors

I purchased this piece for our bedroom, to store DVD's, and it is absolutely perfect!I saw the exact same piece other places for two times more, and I couldn't believe this price [...] because the package is fairly weighty (approx 90 lbs), so it was an excellent value. I even found an online coupon for additional savings. [...] packaged extremely well. [...] I was so impressed with the look of the cabinet, its silver hardware, and glass windowpane doors. However I would recommend, with this being a white piece of furniture, to purchase some white touch-up paint, for minor marks.I think the thing that impressed me most was how easy the piece was to put together, and the quality of the hardware fittings. It only took me about 45 minutes, and I went very slowly, because I have never assembled anything. Everything fit perfectly square, and I didn't have to force anything. One thing to note, when you assemble the back of the cabinet, you actually hammer the screws in (rather than screw them). The directions do state to drive the screws, but just in case you wonder. Also, keep in mind that this unit does need to be wall-mounted. I wondered if I could get away without doing it, but once I finished assembling the unit, I could see why they say that. The glass doors on front are a substantial weight, and the unit isn't very deep going back (space saver), so it could tip forward if it was rocked--especially on carpet, I think.Also, the glass doors glide so easily. The hardware that came with the unit was really fantastic.This unit looked just exactly how I thought it would, dimension-wise, and far exceeded my expectations as to quality. It is a bright glossy white, as stated, so get it if you're matching with white. It's not ivory, at all.I highly recommend it! - SarahLou
