My husband has wanted one of these for years. I guess I did a good job picking it out...he loves the color, style, and functionality of the valet. It charges his (and my) Iphones, and has plenty of space for watches, wallet, tie, etc. I was able to assemble it myself. It took about an hour to assemble. A couple of the pieces were easy to put on backwards...and looked right that way. Be careful! - Jaim

I have seen similar items in retail stores priced three times as much. This is a good value with design issues. I purchased it to replace a unit that did not provide power outlets or a tray for my electronics. This unit has a tray and power outlets, but the main design flaw hampers this functionality. The unit is not hard to assemble if you have assembled similar furniture in the past. If this is your first furniture assembly, you will have to rely on the pictorial directions since there are no written directions. The way in which you insert a bolt holder is important. No mention of whether or not to glue the dowel pins; I glued them. The surge protector is neat, but its placement prevents several of my charging units from fitting the outlets. IPODs should work but some phone chargers may be a problem. The top of the unit has slots for the power cords. None of the slots is wide enough for any of the cords and I am going to have to file or sand them to make the slots wider and functional. This will of course mean I have to refinish the slots. - Bob

Nice alternative of just putting clothes on a chair. The power extension cord was not a power bar (as shown) it is just a regular extension cord. - ada
