The wood finish and the wood joining points, of which there are a lot given this design, are all tight and smooth. The leg units are well painted in dark matt black and were of consistent tone and very smooth. The leg unit assembly holes and the receiving holes on the bench lined up perfectly for the substantial bolts provided (allen wrench assembly tool included). I was pleasantly surprised at the quality construction and finish of this unit. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we should reserve the fifth star for Mr. Nelson who designed it. - inFormed Space
